Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains what happens to your data when you visit my portfolio website. This is a static site: it has no server-side code of mine, no database, and no accounts. Almost everything it records stays inside your own browser and never reaches me. Below is exactly what is stored, where, for how long, and which other companies are involved.

Information I Collect

Visiting this site involves the following information:

• Contact form: If you send me a message, I receive the name, the email address and the message text you typed. Nothing is added to what you wrote. This is the only information that reaches me personally, and only once you press send.
• Display preference: Your choice of dark or light mode, saved in your browser so the site looks the same on your next visit.
• Privacy choice: Your answer to the consent banner, saved in your browser so you are not asked again.
• Usage measurements, only if you accept: the site counts page views, clicks and key presses (the count only, never which keys or what you type), how far down the page you scroll, how long you stay, and standard performance timings such as loading speed and layout stability. These figures stay in your browser. They are never sent to me or to anyone else, and they are erased automatically — every 30 seconds while you browse, and when you close the tab.

What I do not collect: I do not log your IP address, I do not record your browser or device details, and I build no profile of you or of your visit. I have no server on which to log anything. The companies that deliver this site to your browser do see your IP address as a consequence of sending you the files — see Third-Party Services below.

How I Use Your Information

The information above is used only for the following purposes:

• To read and reply to messages you send me through the form
• To show the site in the theme you chose, on every visit
• To remember whether you accepted or declined the banner
• To let the page tune its own loading while you are on it, for example by loading images sooner when a page renders slowly. These adjustments happen in your browser, in the moment, and leave no record

I do not analyse traffic. No analytics service is connected to this website: the usage measurements described above are never transmitted anywhere, so they tell me nothing about you and nothing about the site. They exist only inside your browser, for as long as you are on the page.

Third-Party Services

To display this page, your browser has to request files from other companies. Any company that sends you a file necessarily sees your IP address and which page you were loading. This happens as a technical consequence of delivering the site, before you interact with anything and whatever you answer in the consent banner. The companies involved are:

• GitHub Pages: Hosts this site and serves every page to you. Read the GitHub privacy statement.
• Cloudflare (cdnjs): Serves the Font Awesome icons used on every page. The icons are designed by Font Awesome, but the company that delivers them to you, and therefore sees your IP address, is Cloudflare. Both links lead to their respective privacy policies.
• Google Fonts: Serves the Poppins font on the home page. On the other pages, including this one, your browser still opens a connection to it in advance. Read the Google privacy policy.
• jsDelivr: Serves the EmailJS code that the contact form needs, on the home page. Read the jsDelivr privacy policy.
• EmailJS: Receives your name, email address and message and delivers them to my mailbox — but only at the moment you submit the contact form, and only if you accepted the banner. Read the EmailJS privacy policy.

Apart from EmailJS at the moment you press send, none of these companies receives anything you typed or anything the site measured.

Cookies and Local Storage

This website sets no cookies at all. It uses your browser's local storage instead, which is similar but is never sent to a server. Exactly four entries can be written, all of them on your device only:

• dark-mode — whether you chose dark or light mode. Kept until you clear this site's data.
• gdpr-consent and gdpr-choice — your answer to the banner, accepted or declined. The same answer is written under two names for compatibility. Kept until you clear this site's data.
• analytics_events — the usage counts described above, never more than the 50 most recent. Written only if you accepted. Deleted every 30 seconds and when you close the tab, and straight away if you decline.

None of these contains your name, your IP address, or anything that identifies you. The site also keeps a copy of its own pages and images in your browser's cache so it can work offline; that cache holds no personal data.

Data Security

I run no server and hold no database, so there is no collection of visitor data of mine that could be breached. The site is served over HTTPS, and the contact form is submitted over an encrypted connection. The messages you send me live in my mailbox and in EmailJS's systems, and carry the ordinary risks of email. No method of transmission over the Internet or of electronic storage is 100% secure.

Your Rights

You have the right to access, correct, erase, transfer or restrict your personal data, to object to its processing, and to withdraw your consent at any time. Concretely, on this site:

• What is held in your browser — your preferences, your privacy choice and any usage counts — is yours alone. You can inspect or delete all of it at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser settings. I cannot see it, and I cannot delete it for you.
• Messages you have sent me are the only personal data I actually hold. Write to me at the address below and I will send you a copy, correct it, or delete it.
• Withdrawing or changing your consent: use the button below, at any time and as easily as you gave it. It erases your recorded answer, stops any usage counting immediately, and brings the banner back so you can answer again. Declining disables the contact form and erases any usage counts on the spot.

  Change my privacy choice

• The delivery of the site itself, and the IP address that the hosting and CDN companies above see as a result, cannot be switched off while you are browsing: it is what sends you the pages. If you would rather not have that happen, you can reach me by email directly at the address below instead of using this site.

Policy Updates

I may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.
